Siem Reap - Angkor Archeaological Park (Part 2)
Baphuon
Baphuon is supposed to represent Mount Meru and was one of the largest and grandest structures in Angkor. It is located to the Northwest of the Bayon. Baphuon was under major restoration during my visit there.

Terrace of the Elephants
This terrace was used by King Jayaverman VII as a platform to view his victorious returning army. The terrace is 350 meter long was also used as a giant reviewing stand for public ceremonies and serves as a base for the King's grand audience.

Phnom Bakheng
Phnom Bakheng was built at the end of 9th century and the first temple-mountain constructed in Angkor. Located atop a hill, it is a popular tourist spot to view the sunset. The view of the Angkor Wat is featured in a movie Tom Raider when Lara Croft looks through the binoculars upon arriving in Cambodia. It took us around 30 mins to hike to the top.
